Apologies for the lack of posting here. Having a newborn (and then flying across the country with him and his older brother) will do that to a person. I’ve been managing to keep up somewhat on my Facebook page and my Twitter account, but I’m still waiting for life to settle down a little bit more in order to get a handle on all things internet again.
In the meantime, I have a host of exciting actual (as opposed to virtual) events coming up this week. Monday morning at 9am, I’ll be on San Diego Living (channel 6 out here), cooking a recipe from the book, talking picky eaters and local food, and finally realizing my lifelong dream of appearing on a show that airs on the CW. Wednesday I’ll be on KPBS, the San Diego NPR station, on “These Days,” talking all kinds of good stuff with food writer Caron Golden. Wednesday night at 7:30, I’ll be doing a signing and reading at the fabulous Warwick’s bookstore in La Jolla. Slow Food Urban San Diego will also be there, talking about many issues close to my heart in a presentation before I read, which I’m really excited about. Sometime this week, you can read a little pre-interview with me here. In the meantime, read the one with Gary Shteyngart, which is hilarious.
More news to come on the Brooklyn Book Festival, the New York Public Library, and other hijinks.
